Since the Coronavirus pandemic broke out, volunteers from the Universal Church of Jesus Christ (UCJC) mobilised themselves to proactively provide emergency support to socially isolated and vulnerable elderly people. The group has set up an emergency support group to help refugee elderly people from the African Community with health problems affected by the coronavirus outbreak. From Mid-March 2020 onwards until October 2020, the group has been directly helping these elderly women from the wide city of Birmingham, Dudley, Walsall, Wolverhampton and Sandwell affected by coronavirus poverty. The group has been delivering and continues to do so, by giving access to food, toiletries, basic necessities, etc. to help elderly people in isolation.
